Our Destiny
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
~ 1 John 5:13 ~
Here is the third and final reason John gives for writing his first letter to the Christian community. We are included as well. The first two reasons are - to keep us from sin and that our joy might be full.
The assurance of eternal life with the Lord is a hallmark of the Christian life. It reminds us of our destiny and the glory which awaits us.
In His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.
With this knowledge we can face life with confidence and witness with joy relying on the Holy Spirit.
