Ministries in the Church and Biblical Shepherding

Led by Nick Roussakis in Pastor Bryan’s Office

Leadership in the Church (and we are speaking of all facets of spiritual leadership, not just the pastor’s role), is not a mantle of status to be conferred on the church’s elite. It is not earned by seniority, purchased with money, or inherited through family ties. It is not necessarily offered to those who are successful in business or finance. Neither is it handed out based on intelligence or talent. Its requirements are blameless character, spiritual maturity, and, above all, a willingness to serve humbly. This privilege is the most serious responsibility a person can take, for in Paul’s words, “those who served well shall receive great reward…”.

This study will look at the aspects of leadership in the church strictly from the Bible’s perspective and examine the essentials of what a church leader is to be and do.

Heaven—Realizing Our Destiny (Women’s Bible Study)

Led by Nancy Freeman in Pastor Frank’s Office

1 Cor. 2:9,10, 12b – No eye has seen…mind conceived…BUT God has revealed it to us by His Spirit…that we may understand what God has freely given us.

Think of friends or family members who love Jesus and are with Him now. Picture them with you, walking together in Heaven. All of you have powerful bodies, stronger than those of an Olympic athlete. You are laughing, playing, talking, and reminiscing. You pick from a tree an apple or orange. You take a bite. It’s so, so sweet that it’s startling.

Now you see someone coming toward you…it’s Jesusyou fall to your knees in worship. He pulls you up and embraces you. At last, you’re with the Person you were made for, in the place you were made to be—new people, new places to enjoy, and new things to discover.

There is a biblical basis for all the above statements. When people say to you, “We can’t begin to imagine what Heaven will be like,” you’ll be able to tell them, “I can”. (Randy Alcorn)

A Study on the Book of Titus

Led by George Ostojic in Pastor Frank’s Office

Titus was a protégé and close friend of the apostle Paul. He helped Paul organize the churches in the eastern part of the Roman empire. This book, written to Titus, contains instructions to help him lead the troubled churches on the island of Cyprus. Developing good churches is always a challenge even in New Testament times. The kind of person you want to send to refute arguments and false teachers, calm church disunity and find qualified leaders is a man like Titus. He was a strong, reliable and resolute Christian. Through his perseverance in troubled times he discovered the power and satisfaction that only God can give.

This book also gives us qualifications for church leaders and guidelines for godly living. This book also emphasizes faith which is the one force that can overcome divisions and disharmony among believers. Come and join us for a wonderful study in the book of Titus.
