Growing Wiser
Proverbs 9:10 - the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
The fear of the Lord has been described as the fear that drives out all other fears. It is not a crippling fear, but a liberating one. It is awesome respect towards God; knowing Him and loving Him as our Lord Jesus Christ said, " with all our heart, soul, mind and strength '. We cannot do this unless we receive Christ into our heart and become a child of God, believing Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again from the dead the third day.
Wisdom from above is described by James in Ch. 3 verse 17, which emphasizes the Christian character: But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
