An Important Choice
John 1:11-12 - He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
These two verses equate belief in Christ with receiving him. They also each contain two sets of opposites : receiving vs. rejecting and perish vs. everlasting life . These are the choices. Either we trust him and receive him as our Lord and Saviour who died for our sins and rose from the dead the third day, giving us everlasting life, or we reject him and perish.
