The Raising of Lazarus
"Lazarus come forth!"
- This command of Christ marks the most astounding miracle of His earthly ministry prior to His resurrection. Lazarus had been dead 4 days and in Jewish tradition of that day God would not bring back to life any such person until the resurrection at the Last Day. Jesus demonstrates that He is the resurrection and the life by raising Lazarus from the dead.
We see two responses to this event. Many believed in Him. This is the rational response. The utter irrationality of unbelief is exhibited by those who went and told the Pharisees who in turn determined to kill both Jesus and Lazarus!
As believers we serve The Lord of Life. This is our joy and strength as we go through our lives.
