Adam, Seth, Enosh ...
These three names begin the longest list of names in the Bible. Many people wonder why it is in the Scriptures. It is there because God wants us to know who we are descended from. The list starts with all humans, for we are all descended from Adam and from Noah. The list from Noah traces the table of nations (Japhethites, Hamites, Semites, etc) ending with the promised line of Messiah. These are not mythic names but historical people.
It is good news that we are descended from Adam, for these are the people Christ came to save. Have you trusted Christ to save you, believing He died for your sins and mine, was buried and rose from the dead the third day. If not, why not ask Him into your heart as your Lord and Saviour. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
